The Model A063's optical design uses 17 elements organized into 15 groups. Two LD (Low Dispersion) and GM (Glass Molded Aspherical) lens elements are employed in the ideal configuration to drastically reduce optical aberrations. The focus mechanism for the VXD linear motor is part of the AF drive system. VXD responds quickly and precisely when operating at high speeds. The AF speed is roughly twice as fast as the Model A036 of the first generation.
