Apple released its first and the only mixed-reality headset back in 2023. While it’s a great piece of technology, it’s costly and bulky, and is available only in select regions. Now, however, Apple appears to be working on a thin and light wearable, dubbed the Apple smart glasses.
While Apple has been working on a pair of smart glasses for some time, it’s only now that we have some key information about the product. For starters, the Apple smart Glasses may come with Apple Intelligence and compete with the likes of Meta Orion. Sounds good? Here’s everything you need to know.

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple’s rumoured smart glasses will come with Apple Intelligence. This may bring features like Visual Intelligence, Siri support, and more to the smart glasses. With AI features on-board, the smart glasses will let users “analyse the surrounding environment” and gain relevant information.
Apart from this, the smart glasses are said to boast a design similar to the Meta Orion smart glasses. They are also expected to be way thinner and lighter than the Vision Pro. However, no exact details about their dimensions and features have been revealed.

In addition to this, the codename of the wearable has surfaced. Codenamed N50, the Apple smart glasses are expected to bring some cool features that the Vision Pro lacks. Also, since the Vision Pro is now two years old, the Apple smart glasses may benefit from a newer hardware. But again, the exact details are unknown.
As for the price and availability, the Apple smart glasses may still be pricier compared to Meta’s Orion, which will hit the floors later this year. According to an older report, the Apple smart glasses are tipped to launch sometime in 2027, which is still far away.
