Google’s Pixel lineup of smartphones and other devices such as tablets, smartwatches, and earphones has been a popular and much talked about series of products. Notably, Google entered the Pixel domain for smartphones back in 2016, with the original Pixel succeeding the Nexus series of smartphones which were developed and marketed with Google’s expertise. The Pixel lineup has since seen numerous variants and iterative updates over the years, leading up to the Pixel 9 series, which was launched in August 2024.
Expectedly, the Google Pixel series will be going on with the launch of the Pixel 10 series. Expected to be unveiled on August 21 in India, the Pixel 10 series is the next step in the series but is likely to stick to the concepts and ideas that have carried the Pixel lineup all this time. Are you a Pixel fan? If so, this will help you get the low-down on the upcoming Pixel 10 series.
Google Pixel 10 series: All you need to know
Launch date: The Google Pixel 10 series will be unveiled in the United States on August 20, which will be early on August 21 in India. Expect all products in the Pixel smartphone lineup to be showcased on this day, along with details of availability for open sale.
Price and variants: Pricing for the Google Pixel 10 lineup will be revealed at the launch of the smartphone. However, potential buyers can expect the pricing to be similar to that of the Google Pixel 9 lineup for equivalent products. The Google Pixel 10 series will have the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and Pixel 10 Pro Fold as part of the product lineup, with prices varying depending on the variant.
The Google Pixel 10a won’t be launched right now; expect that to come in a few months.
Cameras: On previous Pixel iterations, the camera has been a key differentiator between the base Pixel 10 and the higher ‘Pro’ variants; the base Pixel 9 has a dual-camera setup while the Pro options get a triple-camera system.
Interestingly, the Google Pixel 10 series is expected to feature triple-camera setups on all devices starting from the base Pixel 10, which will also feature a telephoto camera along with the primary and ultra-wide sensors. That said, it’s likely that the Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL will feature a better camera system, to entice users to go a level up.

Chipset: The Google Pixel 10 series will come with the Tensor G5 chipset, which will offer better performance than the Tensor G4 on the Pixel 9 series. Key changes – including a switch to TSMC as the manufacturing partner for the Tensor G5 – will make this a more performance-driven chipset, and will significantly boost the capabilities of the Pixel lineup.
Other features and specifications: Expect there to be many more changes in the Pixel 10 lineup, including more adventurous and popping colours, Qi2 wireless charging along with supported accessories made specially for the Pixel 10 series, and improvements to the AI capabilities of the device.
The Google Pixel 10 series will also feature Android 16 software out of the box, making it among the first smartphones to get this software package straight away. Google promises seven years of operating system and security updates for Pixel 9 series devices, and it’s very likely that the same promise will be made for the Google Pixel 10 series.
