Insta360 Ace cameras come with vlogger-friendly screens that can be flipped

Action cameras offer clear and stable image quality, packed into an extremely compact package. This, of course, makes them suited to everyone from a travel vlogger to an adventure sports enthusiast. Insta360 has added to this list with its new Ace and Ace Pro action cameras.

Insta360 Ace action cameras features and key specifications

The new Insta360 Ace Pro features a Leica Summarit lens and a 1/1.3-inch image sensor, capable of shooting in an 8K resolution at up to 24fps. Moreover, it can also capture subjects at nighttime in far greater detail and supports active HDR for recording during the day – features that the standard Ace model misses out on.

The standard Insta360 Ace sports a smaller half-inch image sensor, and supports recording in a 6K resolution, at up to 30fps.

This is where differences between the two mostly end though. Both, the Insta360 Ace and Ace Pro can shoot in 4K at as much as 120fps and take still images with an effective image resolution of 48MP. The two devices also come with five-nanometre AI chips, which have features such as PureVideo, that can reduce noise in images in real-time.

Both cameras sport 2.4-inch screens that can be flipped while vlogging, to help one frame their videos better, and allow them to capture themselves at angles that may otherwise be difficult. What’s more, the camera is also equipped with the ability to pause or cancel a recording by holding the shutter button, as well as gesture controls which can be used to start or stop recordings when the camera is placed at a distance. That’s not all though. The Insta360 Ace and Ace Pro also feature voice control capabilities.

The new Ace cameras also come with a bunch of AI editing tools, which help create highlights and edit videos for users quickly and easily, without having to take control of things manually. AI Warp being one of them, which through custom keywords, allows one to add dynamic effects to their videos.

Insta360’s Ace action cameras can also be connected to one’s Garmin or Apple Watch, allowing one to overlay their videos with GPS tracking, speed, and other data in real time.

According to Insta360, the Ace series of cameras are water resistant for depths up to 33 feet, which can be increased to as much as 196 feet with a dive case. They are also claimed to be able to operate in temperatures as low as -20 degree celsius.

Insta360 Ace action cameras pricing and availability

The new Insta360 Ace and Ace Pro action cameras are now on sale globally and are priced at $379.99 (approximately Rs 31,600) and $449.99 (approximately Rs 37,400) respectively.
