Netflix is rolling out a bold new update to its TV and mobile experience, overhauling the way we navigate the platform and discover content. In a recent reveal, Chief Product Officer Eunice Kim and Chief Technology Officer Elizabeth Stone introduced a sleeker, smarter, and more user-friendly TV interface designed to help members dive into the content they love, faster and easier than ever before.
Familiar feel, but a new look
“The new Netflix TV experience is still the one you know and love, just better,” Kim shared. And from what we’ve seen so far, she’s not kidding. Netflix has revamped the homepage to make finding your next binge session more intuitive. This will include, clearer title descriptions, relevant badges like “#1 in TV Shows,” and a fresh layout that actually feels modern.
That’s not all. Key shortcuts like Search and My List, previously tucked away, are now front and center, right at the top of the screen. Real-time recommendations are also getting an upgrade, tuned more closely to your current mood and preferences.
But the magic doesn’t stop at design. Stone highlighted Netflix’s long-standing tech prowess, referencing Open Connect and its recommendation engine. “Tech is our superpower,” she said. “It’s how we connect people to shows, movies, and games they’ll love.”

The mobile app is also seeing some love. Netflix is testing a generative AI-powered search feature on iOS, letting users find content with prompts like “I want something funny and upbeat.” Plus, a TikTok-style vertical feed filled with clips is coming soon, which would be perfect for quick discovery and instant watching.
As Stone concluded, “This is just the beginning. We’re evolving Netflix so it’s ready for whatever comes next.” With this new TV experience rolling out globally in the coming weeks, it looks like the future of streaming just got a fresh coat of Netflix red.
