Nothing’s Essential Space, the AI-powered productivity hub that debuted with the Phone 3a series, is getting a neat little upgrade. The latest update integrates it directly into Android’s Share Sheet, letting users add articles, music, and social posts to their Essential Space without switching apps. Think of it as a digital scrapbook powered by AI; everything you find online can now live in one tidy, searchable corner of your Nothing phone.
A smarter way to save and organise
Once the update rolls out, Essential Space will show up as an option in the Share menu across apps. That means a tweet, playlist, or news story can instantly be saved and organised in the hub. For those with auto-updates turned on, the feature will appear automatically once the new version downloads over Wi-Fi. Others can update manually via the Play Store.
Essential Space lives behind the Essential Key, a physical shortcut on the side of Nothing’s latest devices, including the Phone 3, 3a, and 3a Pro. Tap or long-press it, and the hub opens with all your captured notes, images, recordings, and collections neatly sorted.
Earlier this month, Nothing added AI-powered call recording to Essential Space. A long-press of the Essential Key or a quick tap on the notification bar can now start recording a call, with the system automatically generating a text transcription and highlighting key moments. For now, the feature is live in countries including India, the UK, Japan, and Thailand, with more regions to follow.

Between smart sharing, AI summarisation, and integrated recording, Essential Space is shaping up to be more than a simple organiser; it’s becoming the digital brain of the Nothing ecosystem.
