Oppo is apparently beefing up its budget A-series lineup with two new models a GT and a Max. A weekend leak from noted Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station spilled the beans on the new handsets which are targeting the thousand yuan (roughly Rs 12,096) price range in China.
Two models, two distinct audiences
The unannounced devices are reportedly rocking some impressive hardware for what they will cost. We are talking 1.5K LTPS flat display, Snapdragon 7-series silicon, a 50MP dual camera system, and a large battery to keep everything running.
This new GT and Max branding suggest Oppo is getting more specific with its budget offerings. The GT will likely be the better performer of the duo. Meanwhile, the Max variant sounds like it is all about screen real estate and battery endurance.
These new phones seem poised to sit above Oppo’s other recent A-series entries, which focused heavily on durability. The Oppo A5 that launched in March packed a ridiculous 6,500mAh battery but used a less powerful Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chip.

Then you have the A5 Pro from December 2024. It offered a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chip and extreme IP69 water and dust resistance, plus military-grade shock protection and reinforced glass. The new GT and Max phones appear to trade that tank-like build for more processor muscle and a superior display.
Oppo has not breathed an official word about these phones yet. There is no firm launch date or final product name to go on. However, the leak mentions these are mass-produced models. That usually means an official reveal is not too far away, so we will be keeping our eyes peeled.
