Pokémon TCG Pocket to add Sun and Moon booster packs soon

A new expansion is landing in the wildly popular Pokémon TCG Pocket at the end of April. Players will soon be able to open Sun and Moon-themed booster packs, featuring familiar pocket monsters like Rowlet, Litten, and Popplio from the Alola region.

Since its launch in 2024, Pokémon TCG Pocket has seen tremendous success, crossing over 100 million downloads as of February 2025. The game continues to keep players engaged by introducing new expansion packs, Solo battles, trading features, and Ranked gameplay, offering something fresh for every kind of Pokémon fan.

Pokémon TCG Pocket Celestial Guardians expansion arriving on April 29

The latest expansion, titled Celestial Guardians, is set to drop on April 29 at 11 PM PT (April 30, 11:30 AM IST). Timed perfectly with the game’s half-anniversary celebrations, this update will introduce two new booster packs – Lunala and Solgaleo – packed with Pokémon from the Gen 7 Sun and Moon series. Players can look forward to collecting over 200 new cards, including standouts like Alolan Raichu EX, which was teased in the official trailer.

Adding to the excitement, the expansion will also feature two new ultra-rare art cards, each accompanied by mini animated cutscenes within the game. Alolan Marowak and an immersive full-art Lillie card, who offers 60 HP healing to any Stage 2 Pokémon, are sure to become must-haves for collectors and battlers alike.

In addition to the new packs, the half-anniversary event will keep the momentum going throughout May. The celebration kicks off with a Solo Battle Event and will be followed by Special Missions starting May 12.

These missions will offer exclusive rewards, including a full-art version of Rayquaza EX, giving players even more reason to jump in. The anniversary festivities will run until May 28, giving fans nearly a full month to expand their collection and enjoy the new challenges.

With fresh cards, special events, and rare collectibles on the horizon, there’s no better time to dive back into Pokémon TCG Pocket and continue your journey to catch ’em all.
