Redmi 13C, Redmi 13C 5G are budget smartphones with a 5,000mAh battery

Redmi has been on a bit of a roll lately, having come out with a number of offerings in the mid-range and premium smartphone segments. Now, the brand has launched two new budget smartphones in India – Redmi 13C and Redmi 13C 5G. Read on to find out everything about these two new budget smartphones.

The Redmi 13C is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G85 chipset and a Mali-G57 MP2 GPU. The device can be had in three variants – one with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, one with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, and one with 8GB RAM and 256GB of storage. The storage on the device can also be expanded to as much as 1TB, via a microSD card.

The new Redmi 13C sports a 6.74-inch HD+ display with a resolution of 600 x 720 pixels, a 90Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 450 nits. For optics, there is a 50MP primary camera, a 2MP secondary camera, as well as a 2MP macro lens.  On the front is a 5MP camera for selfies and video calls.

Under the hood of the Redmi 13C is a large 5,000 battery which comes with support for 18W fast charging. However, the phone only comes with a 10W adapter in the box.

The slightly more expensive Redmi 13C 5G, as the name suggests, comes with 5G connectivity support. It is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ SoC, and a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. The device also comes in three variants, the same as the Remi 13C – one with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, one with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, and one with 8GB RAM and 256GB of storage.

It also sports the same 6.74-inch HD+ display, albeit with a higher peak brightness of 600 nits. Moreover, it also comes with Corning Gorilla Glass protection.

For optics, there is a 50MP primary camera. Strangely, however, the company has not revealed the specs of the auxiliary camera yet, neither on its website or on media kits. On the front is a 5MP camera for selfies and video calls.

The battery on the device is also a similar 5,000mAh battery with support for 18W PD fast charging.

Other features on the smartphones include a 3.5mm jack for headphone connectivity and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security. Both the devices come running on MIUI14-based Android 13, straight out of the box.

Redmi 13C and 13C 5G pricing and availability

The Redmi 13C is priced at Rs 7,999 for the 4GB RAM and 128GB storage variant, Rs 8,999 for the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant, while the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant is priced at Rs 10,499. The device can be had in Stardust Black and Starshine Green colours.

The Redmi 13C 5G, on the other hand, is priced at Rs 9,999 for the 4GB RAM and 128GB storage variant, Rs 11,499 for the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant, and Rs 13,499 for the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. It is available in Starlight Black, Startrail Green, and Startrail Silver colours.

Both the Redmi 13C and Redmi 13C 5G are available on Xiaomi’s website, as well as at all other major e-commerce portals and partner retail outlets across the country.

A few other options you can consider in the price range are the Vivo Y02T, Samsung Galaxy A05, and the Oppo A18.
