Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 launched in India with an ultra-slim design, 200MP camera

Samsung has officially launched the new Galaxy Fold 7 in India. The latest book-style foldable brings major upgrades and changes over the predecessor. This includes an ultra-slim design, the same cameras as the flagship S25 Ultra, and a big battery with fast charging. Here are all its key features, price, and availability

Unlike its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 brings a slim and light design. The device has a thickness of  8.9mm and weighs just 215 grams.

Despite a thinner footprint, it stays sturdy with the Armor FlexHinge. The foldable sports a 6.5-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X cover display, which is now wider, and features a 21:9 aspect ratio. The cover screen has Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 protection.

On the inside, it has an 8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X primary display with 2,600 nits of peak brightness. The entire frame is built of Armor Aluminium to keep things durable

Other than the form factor and design, the cameras have also received the much-needed upgrades. It now has a 200MP pro-grade main sensor, a 10MP telephoto sensor, and a 12MP ultra-wide unit. There’s a 10MP camera on the cover screen and the main screen for selfies.

Inside, there’s the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset, which again is a custom chipset for Samsung. It’s also the most powerful chipset for mobiles from Qualcomm. It is paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.0 internal storage.

The device packs a 4,400mAh battery with support for 25W fast charging support. Interestingly, the Z Fold 7 boots on the newest Android 16-based One UI 8 out of the box and features a bunch of new AI features, like Object Eraser, AI-powered multitasking, and new Now Bar.

You can now summon Google’s Gemini AI assistant by long-pressing the power button. Gemini now also works across Samsung apps. Moreover, Google is also giving six months of a Google AI Pro subscription for free.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 starts at Rs 1,74,999 for the base 12GB + 256GB variant. The 12GB + 512GB variant is priced at Rs 1,86,999. The top-of-the-line 16GB + 1TB variant costs Rs 2,10,999.

The Z Fold 7 is now up for pre-orders, and those who do can get the 12GB + 512GB variant for the price of the base 12GB + 256GB variant.

The device will be available in Jetblack, Blue Shadow, Silver Shadow, and Mint colours.
