Tri-fold flagship pricing surprises everyone

This is how much the Samsung Galaxy Z Tri-Fold may cost

Samsung has been teasing its entry into the tri-fold market with the upcoming Galaxy Z TriFold for a while, showing off prototypes at recent industry events like APEC. While astronomical costs are usually associated with such bleeding-edge technology, a new leak brings some surprising news for enthusiasts.

A well-known tipster has leaked updated pricing details via Naver that might make the upcoming device slightly more attainable than initially feared.

Samsung Galaxy Z Tri-Fold price expectations

According to a Korean tech blogger, Samsung plans to price its first tri-fold phone at approximately 3.6 million KRW. This converts to roughly Rs 2,25,000, which is a significant drop from the previously rumoured price tag of over 4 million KRW. This strategic move places the device in a competitive position against rival Huawei, whose tri-fold option sits in a similar premium bracket.

The source suggests that an internal sales announcement has already been made, hinting at a launch as early as December. However, availability might be restricted to specific regions like Korea, China, and Singapore initially.

It is worth noting that early adopters might have limited choices, as the leak points to a single RAM and storage configuration available in just one colourway sold directly by the brand.

Samsung Galaxy Z Tri-Fold specifications (rumoured)

Samsung is yet to officially reveal the Galaxy Z TriFold, featuring a unique G-style hinge mechanism that allows the phone to fold inwards twice. This design choice helps protect the delicate internal panel, which reportedly expands to a massive 10 inches when fully open.

For standard phone usage, the cover screen measures roughly 6.5 inches with high brightness levels. Powering this massive setup is the expected Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset coupled with a silicon-carbon battery with a capacity around 5,437mAh.

Photography duties will reportedly be handled by a powerful 200MP primary camera, inherited from the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. This combination of a lower-than-anticipated price and flagship specifications suggests Samsung is aggressive about maintaining its lead in the foldable market segment.
