Vivo has confirmed the launch of its next foldable smartphone in India. The all-new Vivo X Fold 5 will debut later this month, featuring a thin and light design. The foldable will also get a few internal upgrades, including a new chipset.
Interestingly, the Vivo X Fold 5 will also be compatible with your Apple Watch and will be able to connect to your Apple iCloud. Sounds good? Here’s everything you need to know.
Everything we know so far about the Vivo X Fold 5
The Vivo X Fold 5 will succeed the X Fold 3 from last year. The device is confirmed to be announced on June 25. Upon its global release, Vivo may bring it to India. Notably, the Vivo X Fold 3 is currently available for purchase in the country.
Coming to its specifications, the X Fold 5 will have a sleek look, featuring a thinner design while being comparatively lighter. It will have two AMOLED screens; however, the exact specifics are unknown. Vivo will retain the Zeiss options on the X Fold 5. It may have a 50MP Sony IMX921 main sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 50MP IMX882 3x telephoto sensor.
The X Fold 5 is rumoured to have an improved IPX9 rating, making it withstand high-pressure water jets. This means you can easily take it to the shower once in a while.
While Vivo is expected to use a new chipset for the X Fold 5, the exact model is unknown. But what we do know is that the X Fold 5 will have a unique feature up its sleeve. It will support dual-machine interconnection with an iPhone. This will let users receive calls and texts from their iPhone directly on their foldable.
