Recently, WhatsApp introduced a key feature called Group Message History that allows admins to share up to 100 recent messages with new group members. Now, the popular instant messaging platform is soon expected to add the ability to schedule messages.
WhatsApp reportedly working on message scheduling feature
The folks at WABetaInfo spotted the message scheduling feature in the app’s beta version number 26.7.10.72 for iOS. Users can write a message, choose the date and time, and have it delivered automatically in advance. This will help people avoid missing greetings, work updates, or bill reminders that need to be sent at a precise time.

The scheduled messages will be displayed in the ‘Scheduled Messages’ section on the chat info screen and users can delete those before they’re sent out. Recipents won’t be notified if the scheduled message is deleted. The preview shows the feature for group chats. However, it is also expected to be available for individual chats.
The feature is currently under development and isn’t available for beta users. However, the source has a reliable track record when it comes to unannounced features on the Meta-owned platform. There is no word when the message scheduling feature will roll out to the public. It should also be available for Android devices.
For those unaware, iPhone users can schedule WhatsApp messages through Apple’s Shortcuts app. For Android, there are third-party automation apps but with privacy and safety concerns.
