Xiaomi 17 Pro, Xiaomi 17 to launch later this month with exciting upgrades

Xiaomi has officially confirmed the launch of its next flagship smartphone, and it appears to be quite appealing. Called Xiaomi 17, the successor of the Xiaomi 15, is teased to launch later this month in China. Additionally, some key features of the series have surfaced, and there seem to be some exciting upgrades.

All about the upcoming Xiaomi 17 series

Xiaomi has confirmed the release timeline to be September. The Xiaomi 17 series, including the Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Pro, and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, could launch by the end of this month. The exact release date, however, is unknown. Also, it’s worth noting that this launch will be exclusive to China, at least for a couple of months.

We can expect the phone’s global launch to happen by the end of this year or early next year. Since it’s the flagship series, expect the pricing to be similar to the existing Xiaomi 15 lineup.

As for what it has to offer, expect a new chipset. Rumours suggest the presence of the unannounced Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. The series may get a 6.4-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a crisp 1.5K resolution.

The top model may get four 50MP sensors, including a wide, ultrawide, telephoto, and a periscope telephoto. Expect a larger 7,000mAh battery with 100W wired and 50W wired fast charging support. Lastly, the series may run on Android 16-based HyperOS.
