Akis Evangelidis, Nothing co-founder and CEO of Nothing India, recently confirmed that the CMF Phone 2 Pro will be the first smartphone from Nothing to come with a charger in its retail box. In a day-and-age where removing accessories from the retail box has become the norm, this is a pleasant deviation from the status quo.
Admittedly Nothing is one of the few smartphone OEMs that ditch chargers in smartphone boxes, alongside Samsung, Google, and Apple. However, its decision to right its wrongs in a cutthroat market like India could definitely win it some brownie points from the customers.

CMF Phone 2 Pro to provide a charger in its Indian retail box
Akis Evangelidis took to X to announce that the CMF Phone 2 Pro would include a charger in the box. He shared an image of the upcoming phone’s box with a two-pronged charging adapter slot, much to the delight of Nothing fans in India. So far, Nothing fans have become accustomed to purchasing chargers separately for their phones. However, some fans have made their criticism of the fact pretty clear.
Replying to the user who asked the brand to include a charger in the box, Evangelidis said, “We heard you my man – giving it a go with CMF Phone 2 Pro in India”. This indicates that the change is India-specific only, so other global markets may not reap the same benefits as Indian customers.
The smartphone market in India is uber-competitive, and the simple gesture of including a charging brick could influence users’ buying decisions. This could just the step Nothing needed to take to strengthen its CMF sub-brand’s presence in India.
CMF Phone 2 Pro: What we know so far
Most of the Nothing Phone 2 Pro’s specs are still under wraps; but the launch date has been confirmed for April 28 at 6:30 PM IST. The phone will launch alongside three new earbuds from CMF including the Buds 2, Buds 2a, and Buds 2 Plus.

The CMF Phone 2 Pro will likely mimic the pricing of its predecessor and could launch in India under Rs 20,000. However, since it is the “Pro” variant, it could be pricier than the CMF Phone 1’s Rs 15,999 starting price. For more news about the latest tech, stay tuned to Unboxed by Croma.
