The post-apocalyptic hit Fallout isn’t slowing down anytime soon. During its annual upfront presentation in New York City, Prime Video confirmed Fallout Season 2 will premiere in December 2025, earlier than expected, and revealed that a third season is already in the works.
Fallout Season 2: A gift that keeps on giving
It’s a surprising move. Season 2 only wrapped production last week, with delays due to LA wildfires. Many assumed the next chapter wouldn’t arrive until 2026. But according to the folks behind the show, the wasteland is ready for round two this winter.

“The holidays came a little early this year – we are thrilled to be ending the world all over again for a third season of Fallout,” said executive producers Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy. They also thanked cast, crew, showrunners Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner, Bethesda, and fans for helping bring the series to life.
Why the early confidence?
Season 1 pulled in over 100 million viewers globally since debuting in April 2024. Its final moments teased a shift to Fallout: New Vegas, sending Lucy (Ella Purnell), Maximus (Aaron Moten), and The Ghoul (Walton Goggins) toward the Mojave Wasteland.
That tease paid off as the production house has now confirmed Season 2 will feature the iconic Vegas setting, with Mr. House playing a role and set leaks pointing to fan-favourite landmarks like the Lucky 38 casino and Dinky the T-Rex.
From what we have seen with games being adapted as series, with some being spectacular failures, because of the high expectations and demands for accuracy by the geeks across the globe, the success of the Fallout series is a benchmark for the entertainment industry to match up to.

No official trailer yet. No confirmed release date either. But one thing’s clear that Prime Video is betting big on Fallout. And with filming finished and a third season greenlit, this radiation-soaked universe is only expanding.
