Gemini UI overhaul announced along with confirmed macOS app

Google has revealed that Gemini is about to get a major UI upgrade under a project named ‘UX 2.0’. Alongside a redesign, the company has confirmed that a native macOS version of the app is in development and should be available soon. Here’s all you need to know.

Gemini’s redesign aims to make the app cleaner and easier to use. Users can expect a refreshed home screen with a simpler greeting and improved visual layout. Action buttons for features such as creating images or writing text could be reorganised for easier access and readability.

Notably, many users took to social media complaining about Gemini’s user interface. ChatGPT’s simpler UI is liked by many, and that’s probably why we are getting this Gemini makeover.

Although not much is known yet, other than what we mentioned above. But there’s good news for macOS users. A native Gemini app could be launched soon, and Google has already confirmed it.

Until now, Mac users had to access Gemini through a browser. A dedicated macOS app will change that. With a desktop app users might get deeper integration, such as drag-and-drop support and smoother workflow for creative and productivity tasks.
