Google Search AI Mode just got a whole lot smarter for finance queries

If you’ve ever tried researching stock performance or mutual fund data, you know how quickly the tabs pile up. But that might be about to change. Now, Google is starting to roll out a new interactive charts feature in AI Mode within Labs, a move that could reshape how users explore financial data, as claimed by Google in its blog post.

Now, instead of toggling between websites or juggling spreadsheets, you can just ask something like, “Compare the stock performance of blue chip CPG companies in 2024,” and get a clean, interactive chart along with a contextual breakdown. So, you can generate dynamic graphs, time filters, and explanations, all tailored to your specific query.

This might make financial research less of a headache

At the heart of this new feature is Gemini’s advanced multi-step reasoning, combined with its ability to process multimodal inputs. That means it’s not just pulling numbers, it understands the question, checks real-time and historical data, and delivers insights in a digestible visual format. You can even follow up with something like, “Did any of these companies pay back dividends?” and AI Mode picks up right where you left off.

It’s a smarter, more conversational way to do analysis. No more jumping from ticker symbols to financial news to dividend history. It’s all baked into one seamless flow.

The feature is currently available in Labs, so expect early feedback to shape how it evolves. Google hasn’t mentioned a wider release timeline yet, but if testing goes smoothly, this could become a go-to tool for retail investors, students, and even financial pros looking to save time.

Altogether, this update signals a push to make Gemini not just helpful, but indispensable, when it comes to crunching financial data.
