It is no surprise that Rockstar Games’ GTA 6 is perhaps the most anticipated game release in 2025. With no new entry to the fan-favourite GTA 6 series in over a decade since 2013’s GTA V, expectations for GTA 6 have been sky-high since Rockstar released the first trailer for the game in December 2023.
However, it has been over a year since then, and Rockstar Games has not followed up with any other trailers or information for the title. All fans had to work with, was a rather vague 2025 release date. This led many to believe that the GTA 6 project was facing delays, and any day, we’d hear news of a push to 2026. Now, a new business call has cleared that news up.
Publisher Take-Two Interactive recently released a financial earnings report that had the company talking about its 2025 release schedule. While no release date for GTA 6 was shared, it was confirmed that the game is indeed releasing in fall 2025.

Of course, the game is still coming for consoles first, including the Sony PlayStation 5 Slim. A Windows release for gaming laptops and desktops may come even later.
Take Two also pointed at a few other big titles the publisher plans to launch later this year. This includes Civilization 7, Mafia: The Old Country and Borderlands 4.

GTA 6: What to expect?
As suggested by the only trailer we have so far for the game, GTA 6 is expected to come with a revamped Vice City, with an in-game world that is not just larger than any other game in the series, but also much more vibrant.
The game is expected to focus on two central characters – Lucia and Jason, who are criminals in a Bonnie-and-Clyde-esque relationship. The game is set to feature many new elements too, including many new mini-games, in-game animals, and also what looks like an in-game social media platform.
More details on the game, including a second trailer of sorts are expected later this year, between now and the end of the year. Until then, stay tuned to Unboxed by Croma for the top gaming news, and all things tech.
