JBL has dropped its new Tour One M3 headphones in India, and it comes in two variants. The first gets you the headphones alone. But Rs 5,000 more fetches you a clever little dongle designed to free your audio from just about anywhere.
The Tour One M3 Smart Tx is the star of the show
This special variant is called the Tour One M3 Smart Tx. It bundles in a touchscreen transmitter that acts as a wireless bridge for your headphones. You can plug it into ancient in-flight entertainment systems with a 3.5mm jack or a TV’s USB-C port, and it will beam the audio right to your ears.
This neat little dongle also supports Auracast, which lets you broadcast your audio to other compatible devices. It basically makes the headphones compatible with sources that wireless headphones normally ignore.
Under the hood, the headphones are no slouch either. They are built around newly developed 40mm Mica Dome drivers tuned for premium sound. You get support for Hi-Res Bluetooth streaming and even lossless audio playback through a direct USB-C or analogue connection.
JBL is also packing in its Spatial Sound technology with head tracking to create a more immersive, 360-degree soundscape. For a personal touch, the Personi-Fi 3.0 feature lets you take a hearing test through the companion app to generate a customised sound profile just for your ears.
To keep the outside world at bay, the Tour One M3 employs True Adaptive Noise Cancelling 2.0. This system uses an eight-microphone setup to monitor your environment in real-time and adjust the noise cancellation on the fly. SmartTalk is another handy feature that automatically pauses your music when it detects you are speaking.
Call quality is handled by a four-microphone array with adaptive beamforming to make sure your voice comes through clearly, a feature that helped it get Zoom-certified when using a wired connection.

JBL claims a marathon-like 70 hours of playback on a single charge. If you do run low, a quick five-minute top-up provides another five hours of listening. The standard JBL Tour One M3 will set you back Rs 34,999, while the version with the Smart Tx transmitter costs Rs 39,999. Both are available now in Black, Blue, and Mocha colour options.
