Netflix Playground app announced for kids with interactive ad-free and offline games

Netflix has launched an interactive entertainment app for kids. Called the Netflix Playground, it is designed for kids aged eight and younger and is available for all Netflix subscribers. The standalone app brings together a curated library of games that are safe and easy to access. To jog your memory, the streaming giant introduced games back in 2021 for its adult user base. Read on to know everything below.

A dedicated gaming hub for younger audiences

The Netflix Playground app is available as a dedicated app on smartphones and tablets via Apple App Store and Google Play Store. It is available with all Netflix subscriptions and can be accessed by signing in with an existing account.

The app does not have any ads, in-app purchases, or additional fees making it kid-friendly. It is currently available for download in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the Philippines. The app is also set to be rolled out in wider markets on April 28.

The initial list of games Peppa Pig, Sesame Street, Dr Seuss’s Horton, StoryBots, Dr Seuss’s The Sneetches, Bad Dinosaurs, Dr Seuss’s Red Fish, Blue Fish, and Let’s Colour. All games are instantly playable along with offline support allowing access even without internet connection. 

Netflix Playground comes with parental controls to manage and monitor their children’s activity. These include age-appropriate content, customisable maturity settings, profile lock PINs, title-level blocking options, and viewing and tracking history.

Alongside Netflix has also announced new shows and returning series for kids. These include Young MacDonald, Trash Truck, The Creature Cases, My Sesame Street Friends: My Elmo, CoComelon Lane, and more.
