Samsung is rolling out One UI 8.5 to eligible Galaxy phones. This is a beta update for those who opted for the beta program, which was recently announced. The update brings quite a few improvements and changes, from upgrades to Photo Assist to improved connectivity features. Here’s all you need to know about One UI 8.5
What’s new with One UI 8.5?
The latest One UI 8.5 beta update enhances Photo Assist for continuous image generation and editing without saving each step. You can now also see the edit history for your review.
Additionally, Quick Share now recognises people in photos and suggests sharing with relevant contacts. This makes sharing media and files with your known ones quicker, easier, and more convenient.
Other than this, connectivity has been improved with One UI 8.5. The update adds Audio Broadcast that enables communication with nearby LE Audio-supported devices via Auracast for group scenarios.

Furthermore, the new Storage Share feature allows access to files from other Galaxy devices. This includes tablets, PCs, and TVs.
One UI 8.5 also brings enhanced security, with support for Theft Protection for securing devices and data if lost or stolen, and a failed authentication lock when multiple unlock attempts fail.
One UI 8.5 rollout schedule, eligibility list
Samsung’s One UI 8.5 beta is now available to Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S25 series via the Samsung Members app. More devices, however, should soon be eligible to run the update. Notably, the upcoming Galaxy S26 series may run One UI 8.5 out of the box.
