Samsung’s latest Android 16-based One UI 8 update is now making its way to the Galaxy F36 and its twin sibling, the Galaxy M36, in India. First introduced with the company’s seventh-generation foldables in July, One UI 8 promises a design refresh that’s as much about feel as it is about function.
Users on X (formerly Twitter) and Samsung’s Community Forum have confirmed the rollout, with the update weighing around 2.3GB depending on the device. The firmware carries build numbers E366BXXU2BYI4, E366BODM2BYI4, or E366BXXU2BYI3, and comes bundled with the September 2025 security patch. As Samsung puts it, this update is about getting “a fresh look for your Galaxy”, and it’s not exaggerating.
Galaxy F36 and M36 get One UI 8
Beyond the usual performance polish, One UI 8 breathes new life into the Galaxy experience. The interface gets a more vibrant colour palette, refined widgets, and optimised layouts that feel more fluid and personal. Android 16 also deepens Samsung’s focus on privacy and connection. Think better control over data sharing, smoother device sync, and subtle UI cues that make daily use a touch more delightful.
In Samsung’s words, this update invites users to “discover new ways to connect, create, and protect your data”, a neat summary of how far its custom skin has evolved from its early, bloated days. Read more about its features in the article below.

How to get One UI 8 on your Samsung phone
The update is available over the air (OTA) for eligible Galaxy F36 and M36 users. Once notified, head to Settings > Software Update > Download and Install, and follow the prompts. If you don’t see it right away, don’t panic. Samsung’s rollout is staged, so your device might just be a few days away from joining the One UI 8 club.
