OnePlus Ace 5 series announced with powerful new Snapdragon chips

OnePlus has announced the all-new Ace 5 series in China. The smartphone series consists of two devices dubbed the OnePlus Ace 5 and Ace 5 Pro. Both smartphones come in the premium price range offering impressive specifications.

Some of the highlights of the series include a large 8T LTPO AMOLED display, up to Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, and a massive battery with fast charging support. Additionally, there’s also an IP rating for dust and water resistance. Let’s see the full specification, features, and price of the series.

OnePlus Ace 5 series specifications and features

The OnePlus Ace 5 and Ace 5 Pro feature a 6.78-inch 8T LTPO display with a 2160Hz PWM dimming support. The screen has up to 4,500 nits of peak brightness and boasts Oppo Crystal Shield Glass protection.

Powering the Ace 5 is a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset with 12GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. The Ace 5 Pro, on the other hand, is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and the same storage as the Ace 5.

The Ace 5 Pro also comes with a Wi-Fi G1 chip, which is a dedicated game connectivity chipset to offer better network stability and performance while playing games.

As far as the cameras are concerned, the Ace 5 duo is equipped with a triple-rear camera system with a 50MP Sony IMX 906 main sensor with OIS support, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro sensor. Upfront, there’s a 16MP Sony IMX480 lens that can capture 1080p videos at 30fps. The rear camera is capable of shooting up to 4K videos at 60fps.

The series packs a massive battery. The Ace 5 houses a 6,412 mAh cell with an 80W SuperVOOC fast charging support. As for the Ace 5 Pro, it packs a slightly smaller 6,100mAh battery but has faster 100W SuperVOOC charging support.

The series has an IP65 certification for dust and water resistance. It has 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, and GPS support. Both models run on Android 15 OS out of the box with ColorOS 15 on top. Both phones have an in-display fingerprint scanner for added security.

OnePlus Ace 5 series price and availability

The OnePlus Ace 5 is priced starting at CNY 2,299 (about Rs 26,800), whereas, the OnePlus Ace 5 Pro starts at CNY 3,399 (about Rs 38,600). Both phones will be available for purchase in China from December 31.

Since the OnePlus Ace series is China exclusive, the Ace 5 series won’t likely launch in India. However, the vanilla Ace 5 could arrive here as OnePlus 13R in January with a slightly tweaked camera system and battery. Stay tuned to Unboxed by Croma for more details on this.
