Oppo Find X8 Pro’s zoom camera tested

If you are in the market for a camera phone, there are options aplenty, especially in the premium segment. However, not all devices come with crazy zooming capabilities. Oppo’s Find X8 Pro, however, is an exception. It comes with a dedicated periscope telephoto camera, allowing users to zoom up to 120x.

Not wowed enough? That’s 20x more than Galaxy S25 Ultra’s 100x hybrid zoom, and 95x more than iPhone 16 Pro Max’s 25x hybrid zoom. We put the Oppo Find X8 Pro’s zoom cameras to the test, and here’s what we thought about it.

Oppo Find X8 Pro has a whopping 120x total zoom support

We tested the Oppo Find X8 Pro’s zooming capabilities, and it can go as further as 120x. This is a hybrid zoom range, which includes 6x optical as well as digital zoom. This is possible due to the 50MP Sony IMX858 periscope telephoto sensor.

The device also has a 50MP telephoto camera, which offers 3x optical zoom support. These two sensors are assisted by a 50MP main sensor and a 50MP ultra-wide sensor, completing the phone’s quad camera setup on the rear.

Out of these sensors, the 3x telephoto and the 6x telephoto cameras are the most impressive. The camera app on the phone offers a clean UI, allowing you to quickly jump between different zoom ranges.

Users can quickly switch to 1x, 2x, 3x, and 6x zoom ranges. Tap and hold any of the zoom range (let’s say 1x) and you get a slider that can allow you to go up to 120x. The 120x shots taken from the phone are fairly decent. With its 120x zooming capability, you can quickly click a picture of an Airplane, the moon, and other similar objects.
