Adobe is bringing the power of Photoshop to Android users, launching the beta version of its long-awaited mobile app on the Google Play Store. Starting June 3, the app is available as a free download for Android devices running version 11 or later, with at least 6GB of RAM (8GB recommended).
Photoshop mobile is designed to offer an intuitive experience for creators who prefer working from their phones. The app combines core editing tools with Adobe’s Firefly AI engine, letting users create everything from simple retouches and collages to complete social media posts and digital artwork.
What’s inside the Photoshop app for Android?
At its core, the Android beta offers a streamlined version of Photoshop’s familiar toolkit. Users can blend images with layers, selections, and masks. AI tools like Tap Select and Remove help isolate or erase elements in seconds, while Firefly’s Generative Fill lets users make text-prompt-based edits, like changing a background or adding objects, using a monthly allocation of generative credits.
There’s also a full suite of retouching options. Spot Heal removes blemishes with a tap, while adjustment layers give precise control over lighting and colour. Import images directly from your camera roll or Adobe Stock, and design collages, flyers, or posters using drag-and-drop layering, textures, film grain, and vintage filters.
Designed for visual storytelling
Whether you’re turning lyrics into Instagram posts or designing a mood board, the app’s Type tool, stickers, and overlays let users build custom visuals. Finished projects can be exported in JPG, PNG, TIF, or layered PSD formats, with Quick Export making it easy to save or share directly.
