After twelve years on the track, Real Racing 3 is parking it for good. We sort of knew this might happen eventually, given how old the game is, but seeing the announcement today still feels weird.
EA has officially confirmed they are sunsetting one of the best racing games on mobile – and things are moving pretty quickly.
Get your final laps in while you can
The title has already been delisted from the App Store and Google Play, as of December 18. If you previously downloaded the app, you can still grab it from your history, but new players are officially locked out. You also cannot spend any real cash in the game now.
Perhaps to make this sting a little less, the developers are handing out some freebies in the final update. Everyone gets 1000 Gold just for logging in. You are also getting an Audi S1 e-tron quattro and a 2023 Rimac Nevera. If you already own those, you simply get extra gold instead.
You need to use that currency quickly, though. The servers are totally shutting down on March 19, 2026. After that, “RR3 will no longer be playable.”
The RR3 project started with Firemonkeys, a studio down in Australia. Following some layoffs there in 2023, EA moved development over to Hyderabad to keep the updates flowing.
Turns out, we almost got a sequel too. Reports from a while back suggested Real Racing 4 was in development before getting cancelled in 2019.

All in all, it was a good run, but every race has to finish eventually.
