Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro, Buds2 and Buds FE to get Galaxy AI features; here’s all you need to know

It’s been close to a month since unveiled its new Samsung Galaxy S24 series of smartphones at the Galaxy Unpacked event. However, the phones weren’t the only highlight of the event. Along with it, Samsung also announced the rollout of Galaxy AI. Galaxy AI, developed by Samsung in collaboration with Qualcomm, is a set of AI features on board Galaxy devices, including the likes of live translate, interpreters, generation of text, summaries of notes, and edit suggestions for images and videos.

Now, many were under the impression that the features would be restricted to Samsung’s flagship offerings, and only to its smartphones. That’s not the case, however, as it turns out. Samsung has just announced that it will be rolling out many the Galaxy AI features to its Galaxy Buds2 Pro, Galaxy Buds2 as well as the Galaxy Buds FE. Here’s all you need to know.

What are the new Galaxy AI features being rolled out to the Galaxy Buds?

The Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro, Galaxy Buds2, and the Galaxy Buds FE will soon receive Galaxy AI capabilities as an over-the-air update.

Users can now speak into their Galaxy Buds’ microphone in a language of their choice, and they will translate the users’ voice into a supported language in real-time on the screen of the Galaxy S24 user on the other end. That’s not all, though.

Users can speak in a given language, and the Galaxy Buds will also be able to translate them in real time and transmit the translated voices directly to a listener, enabling near-natural conversation without requiring a user to take out their phone to view translations in real time.

Bear in mind that the new Galaxy AI features will currently work only as long as both people on two ends are using Galaxy Buds connected to a Samsung Galaxy S24 series device. If and when the feature will support devices the buds connected to devices including the older Samsung Galaxy S23, Galaxy Z Fold5, and the Galaxy Z Flip5, amongst others, remains to be seen as of now.

Samsung Galaxy Buds pricing and availability

For the unaware, the Galaxy Buds2 Pro are priced at Rs 15,990, the Galaxy Buds2 at Rs 6,090, and the Galaxy Buds FE are priced at Rs 9,999. Additionally, the feature isn’t being rolled out to the Samsung Galaxy Buds Live, which are currently the company’s cheapest TWS earbuds on sale.

They can be purchased from Samsung’s website as well as its store, and all other partner retail outlets and e-commerce portals across the country.
