Although Samsung has released its much-awaited Galaxy S25 lineup, it hasn’t launched all the phones in the series yet. One of the most anticipated devices in the series and also a new entrant, the Galaxy S25 Edge, is expected to be announced sometime later this year.

What makes it special is its slim form factor, which Samsung showcased during the release of the other S25 models last month. Now, new information about the phone has been surfaced, revealing the phone’s camera and battery details. And there’s good and bad news. Here’s everything you need to know.

Everything you need to know about the Galaxy S25 Edge

The good news is that the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge will reportedly get the same main camera sensor of the Galaxy S25 Ultra. This means it will feature a 200MP ISCOCELL HP2 sensor, which is quite the capable sensor. That’s great, but what’s bad news is that the device won’t feature a dedicated telephoto sensor.

Instead, Samsung is expected to offer a 12MP ultra-wide unit, completing the dual-rear camera system. So, for all the zooming needs, users may have to rely on the main sensor, which will have limited optical zoom capability.

While the reason for not including a dedicated camera is unknown, it probably has to do with the thickness that a telephoto camera brings. Having a telephoto sensor may add a camera bump, and that’s likely why Samsung isn’t planning to include a dedicated zoom sensor on the Edge.

Other than the camera, the device is expected to pack a smaller battery. It will reportedly pack a 3,900mAh cell, which is 100mAh smaller than the battery inside the Galaxy S25. But what’s great is that despite such a small reduction in the battery size, the phone will be way slimmer than the S25.

The Galaxy S25 Edge may have a 5.84mm thickness, which is much slimmer than S25’s 7.2mm thickness and the previously reported thickness of the S25 Edge – 6.4mm.

Apart from this, the Galaxy S25 Edge is expected to be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and boot on Android 15-based One UI 7. It is expected to be pricier than the base S25 and the Galaxy S25+, but will likely be placed below the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

Unfortunately, the Galaxy S25 Edge’s release date is still unconfirmed. But it is expected to launch in the coming months, competing with Apple’s slim phone that’s slated to arrive in October.
