Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 Series launched in India with Galaxy AI features

Samsung has launched the much-awaited Galaxy Watch 8 series in India. The Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 comes with a beefier chassis and packs Galaxy AI for convenience. There’s also a Classic version for those who love to keep it old-school. Here’s everything you need to know.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 key features, price, and availability

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 gets a design upgrade over the predecessor with a boxier and beefier chassis, one that’s similar to the more premium Galaxy Watch Ultra. It comes in 44mm and 40mm dials, featuring a 1.47-inch Super AMOLED screen and a 1.34-inch Super AMOLED display, respectively.

There’s also a Classic version that comes in a 46mm size, featuring a smaller 1.34-inch Super AMOLED display. The trio is powered by the new 3nm-based Exynos W1000 chipset, paired with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage on the Watch 8 and 64GB on the Watch 8 Classic.

The Watch 8 in 44mm packs a 435mAh battery, whereas the 40mm variant houses a smaller 325mAh battery. The Watch 8 Classic packs the biggest battery, i.e., a 445mAh. The series runs on One UI 8 Watch with WearOS 6 underneath.

The Watch 8 is IP68 rated for dust and water resistance. For the first time in a Samsung wearable, the Watch 8 comes with Galaxy AI features. You can use Gemini to get things done. It also works with Samsung apps like Samsung Health, Calendar, Reminder, and Clock.

As for the price, the Galaxy Watch 8 (40mm) is priced at Rs 32,999, whereas the 44mm variant costs Rs 35,999. The LTE option starts at Rs 36,999 for the 40mm and Rs 39,999 for the larger 44mm.

The Watch 8 Classic (Bluetooth) starts at Rs 46,999, and the LTE option costs Rs 50,999.

The Galaxy Watch 8 series is now up for pre-orders on the Samsung India website and other retail stores across India.

Samsung also launched the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2, which gets 64GB of storage and runs on the new Galaxy One UI 8 Watch. It also features a new Titanium Blue colour option. Unfortunately, the price of the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 is unknown for now.
