In the race to win spec wars, we have seen brands cram their phones with as much as possible, often at the expense of one integral but understated aspect – design. With phones as big as bricks, it can take superhuman effort to not just carry them around, but also to maneuver them in and out of tight jeans pockets.
Samsung seems to have heard the pleas with its latest phone, which is so thin that it can get in and out of the slimmest pair of denims in the market, with relative ease. Yes, we are talking about the impossibly slim – Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge!
With a thickness of just 5.8mm, it is no short of an engineering marvel. What’s interesting is that Samsung claims to have achieved it with minimal performance compromises. But does it deliver on its ambitious promises? We answer that and more in our comprehensive Samsung S25 Edge review.
Samsung S25 Edge design
The moment you hold the device, you’re struck by its impossibly thin it is. Not counting the few seconds, we spent with the Tecno Spark Slim at MWC 2025, this is the slimmest phone we have tested yet.
What’s impressive is that despite being wafer-thin, the S25 Edge doesn’t feel like it will snap like a bar of KitKat. The credit goes to the titanium frame, which feels robust, durable, and, might we say, premium. During our time testing the phone, we didn’t encounter any flex or creaking. The slim profile also makes the phone surprisingly comfortable to hold for extended periods.

Design-wise, the front is dominated by a flat display that seamlessly integrates with the slim edges. The back panel maintains Samsung’s signature minimalism with just the Samsung logo and a protruding camera bump at the top-left corner.
Samsung S25 Edge display
As with Samsung phones, the display is again among the highlights. The 6.7-inch screen offers great clarity, colour reproduction and accuracy. Further enhancing the experience are the impressive brightness levels, and 120Hz refresh rate that makes everything on screen feel silky smooth. For those of you wondering, the screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2, keeping scratches at bay.
Lastly, the slim bezels maximise the screen real estate, giving you almost edge-to-edge visuals. To sum it all up, whether it is reading on-screen text or scrolling through your photos, the display is a treat for the eyes.

Samsung S25 Edge performance
Under the hood is the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, which can easily handle anything from productivity tasks to graphics-heavy games. What’s impressive is that the phone manages the thermals well, while using all the resources at hand. The device does get warm during intensive tasks, but it never becomes uncomfortably hot.
Given the slim profile, it is easy to assume that battery life will be compromised. But, the 3,900mAh battery actually surprised us. With moderate to heavy usage, including gaming, streaming, and productivity tasks, the device easily lasts a full day.
Charging speeds are far from the fastest on offer these days, but they aren’t what you would call slow. We were able to charge the phone from 0-80 per cent in just about an hour, which is more than adequate for most users. The slim profile does mean that wireless charging is somewhat slower than thicker devices, but it’s still a convenient feature to have.
Samsung S25 Edge cameras
For photography enthusiasts, there’s a 200MP camera onboard, which lets you capture shots with plenty of details and great colours. Not surprisingly, in day light conditions, the photos are crisp, vibrant, and full of detail that you can appreciate even when zoomed in significantly. While the level of details does fall in low light conditions, the cameras still manage to capture good enough photos.
The slim profile comes at a bit of cost as Samsung has only been able to add a dual-camera setup and that too without a telephoto lens. Instead, there’s an ultrawide sensor accompanying the main lens. The secondary lens does a good job at capturing the scenes around you. While autofocus helps keeps things sharp, we did find some soft spots in our photos.

Overall, the dual-camera setup, while simplified compared to the Ultra variants in the S25 series, covers the bases well. The versatility is sufficient for most photography needs, the camera app is intuitive, making it easy to capture good shots quickly.
Samsung S25 Edge software and AI
The S25 Edge runs on Samsung’s latest One UI, and it remains among the best in the Android world. The interface is clean, intuitive, and well-optimised. Adding to the overall experience is the myriad of Galaxy AI features, seamlessly integrated throughout the system. These features world exactly as advertised, and the user experience is what we have seen on the other S25 series phones.
