Next Samsung foldable will be thinnest and lightest yet; Here’s what all we know

Samsung has begun teasing the launch of its next lineup of foldables. Likely called the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, the successor of the Z Fold 6, is advertised to be the lightest and thinnest foldable yet from Samsung. Additionally, it’s said to be the most advanced foldable, likely pointing out its latest hardware and software features. Sounds good? Here’s everything we know so far.

What to expect from Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7?

While Samsung hasn’t given out any numbers, it confirmed that the next Galaxy Z Fold will be the lightest, thinnest, and most advanced foldable yet.

The South Korean brand has also shared a teaser video showcasing how thin and sleek it looks. Notably, even when folded, it appears to maintain its slimness, while when unfolded, it appears to be paper-thin.

Additionally, Samsung reaffirmed the ‘Ultra’ experience that people will get with this foldable. For those unaware, the word is that Samsung may release a device called the Galaxy Z Fold Ultra, which could feature a spec sheet similar to its flagship, the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

This includes improved cameras, a sleek design, and powerful hardware. The specifics, however, are unknown as of now. But if we go by the available details on the web, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 or Ultra may get a 200MP main camera, an 8.9mm (folded)/3.9mm (unfolded) thickness, and a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Elite for Galaxy chipset.

The device is also said to get the newest Android 16 OS out of the box with OneUI on top. Apart from this, expect other standard Samsung features like Galaxy AI tools and Samsung Knox security.

That’s all we know so far about its specifications. There’s no clue if Samsung plans to increase the price this time or keep it the same as the current generation. But we’ll get to know soon.

As for its launch timeline, expect it to arrive in the coming weeks, likely in July. It should be released alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 7.
