You know that moment when your phone finally feels smarter, like it’s catching up to its more expensive cousins? That’s exactly what is happening with the smartphone in focus, Samsung Galaxy A56, with the latest update that Samsung is shipping to the phone.
Samsung Galaxy A56 now has Gemini integration
Galaxy devices to block non-eligible phones and tablets from using Browsing Assist. If you’ve grown fond of that feature and your device isn’t on the list, well, it’s time to say goodbye. But before you spiral into disappointment, here’s the good news.
Rolling out globally with the May 2025 security patch, the Galaxy A56 is getting a fresh update that brings Google’s Gemini AI into the spotlight. First introduced on the premium Galaxy S25 series, Gemini is now accessible on the A56 via a long press of the side button. It’s a small change, but it’s got big energy.

Build version A566BXXU3AYDK adds this feature and sets Gemini as the default AI assistant. Not vibing with Gemini? No problem. Head to Settings > Advanced features > Side button and switch back to Bixby, or any assistant that suits your style. Samsung’s giving you options.
What makes Gemini click isn’t just the assistant itself. It’s the smart, cross-app goodness. Think setting reminders, saving notes, launching calendar events, or finding dinner spots on Google Maps, all without juggling multiple apps. That’s cloud-powered AI flexing on a mid-ranger.
And it’s not stopping here. Gemini’s coming to more A-series phones, like the A55 and A36, by June. So if you’re eyeing the A56, here’s the pitch that you’d probably want to hear, better battery, improved performance (thanks to the upgraded Exynos 1580), and now a sprinkle of Galaxy AI magic.
No, it’s not a flagship. But with this update? It doesn’t need to be. Is the A56 suddenly the most interesting mid-ranger in Samsung’s lineup? It just might be.
