Months after announcing them globally, Sony has now brought the WH-1000XM6 to India. The flagship headphones offer improved audio, a vegan leather design, and most importantly, they fold. Intrigued? Here’s everything you need to know about the Sony WH-1000XM6.
What’s new with the Sony WH-1000XM6?
The Sony WH-1000XM6 features a bolder design compared to its predecessor. It’s got a smooth vegan leather headband for a comfortable listening session and an over-ear design. What’s interesting is that the headphone folds and comes in a new magnetic carrying case.
The WH-1000XM6 features 30mm drivers for richer and bass-heavy audio. There’s also support for High-Resolution Audio and High-Resolution Audio Wireless via LDAC.

Sony has offered 12 microphones on the XM6, and using these, they are meant to offer improved noise cancellation. The headphones also have the Q3 processor for sound isolation and an AI-driven optimiser that helps tune the music based on the environment.
Further, the headphones get support for touch gestures that let you increase and decrease the volume. You can also play and pause the music, or accept and decline calls. You also get a physical pairing button, so you can pair the headphones with both Android phones and iPhones via Bluetooth 5.3.
Coming to the battery, the headphones are advertised to offer up to 30 hours of music playback with ANC turned on and up to 40 hours without ANC. You can also enjoy a wired listening session via the 3.5mm headphone jack.
While the specs and features have been improved, the pricing has also gone up. The Sony WH-1000XM6 costs Rs 39,990 in India. You can buy it via online and offline stores in Black, Platinum Silver, and Midnight Blue shades.
In the same price range, you can also check out the Bose QuietComfort Ultra, as they come with similar features.
