We are at a point where single-fold foldables are almost becoming mainstream. But that leaves us with what’s next, and that could very well be the era of the tri-fold foldables. We have already seen many tri-fold foldables, but these came with a major drawback: thickness. Tecno’s latest tri-fold concept, however, is super slim and folds inward.
What’s impressive is that, when unfolded, Tecno’s concept is slimmer than both candybar phones and the slimmest single-fold foldable. Intrigued? Here’s everything you need to know.
All about the Tecno Phantom Ultimate G Fold Concept
The thinnest tri-fold phone in question is the Tecno Phantom Ultimate G Fold. It’s still a concept, but it seems impressive as it’s only 3.49mm in thickness when unfolded. That’s slimmer than the thinnest single-fold phone yet, the Galaxy Z Fold 7, which has 4.2mm thickness.
When folded, it’s still thin, but it’s not thinner than the Z Fold 7 or a candybar smartphone. The Phantom Ultimate G Fold measures 11.49mm in thickness, which is still quite thin for a tri-fold phone, but not as thin as the Z Fold 7, which has 8.9mm thickness when folded.
Unlike some other foldable phones in the market, the Phantom Ultimate G Fold folds inward, resembling a ‘G’, hence the name.
Tecno hasn’t revealed much about the phone other than how slim it is. With a slim design, it’s also expected to be lighter. No numbers announced yet.

Other features of the phone include a large 9.49-inch primary display. Tecno says that the panel offers a minimal crease, but that can only be affirmed once we see it. Lastly, it has triple cameras on the rear, placed horizontally.
Tecno plans to launch the foldable concept later, likely at MWC 2026.
