This Apple Watch feature is set to make a comeback and we couldn’t be happier

Apple Watch is best known for bringing accessibility to our wrists. Whether it is having your health metrics a tap away or receiving work calls in transit, Apple constantly introduces technology and design updates year after year to bring us the best of both worlds. With the watchOS 10, the smartwatch brought several features, including new apps or widgets and even bringing contact posters to your watch screen.

Although minor, Apple did away with a feature that many seemed to have noticed (and disliked!) for its watch faces. However, with watchOS 10.2, users may see the feature making a comeback.

What is the Apple Watch Face Swipe feature?

Apple is planning to restore its watch face swipe feature, which was replaced with a long press and swipe with the new OS update. While the reason for doing away with it remains unknown, multiple Apple Watch users took to micro-blogging site X (formerly Twitter) to express discontent. The long press feature currently makes it challenging for users to swipe through their selected watch faces, especially if they have been assigned for different purposes.

Apart from this, users also noticed how the only way to customise a watch face is by tapping on the edit button at the bottom of the selected face. But much to the relief of frustrated Apple Watch users, Apple is now planning to roll back this feature for everyone with its watchOS 10.2 update.

However, it is crucial to note that this feature will not be a default setting for most users, and you may still have to switch it on your Apple Watch or iPhone. That said, it will still be available as an option to those who wish to use either of the two based on their preferences.
