Tomb Raider is getting a new live-action series on Prime Video

Tomb Raider is returning to live-action, this time as a full-length TV series on Prime Video. The platform has revealed the first look at the actor who’ll be playing the protagonist. And it’s none other than Sophie Turner who’ll step into the boots of archaeologist Lara Croft. Here’s all you need to know.

Prime Video shared the first look at Turner as Lara Croft. And she appears to have the right fit for Craft’s athletic personality. The series marks a fresh chapter for the long-running franchise, bringing the iconic character back into the spotlight.

Over the years, the Tomb Raider has appeared to have gained popularity. Not just with games, but also through movies.

We already saw the 2001 Tomb Raider movie starring Angelina Jolie. In 2018, we got another live-action movie of Tomb Raider, which starred Alicia Vikander.

The announcement of the latest live-action series comes almost a month after announcing new Tomb Raider games, such as the Legacy of Atlantis and Catalyst. Both will arrive by 2027.

Phoebe Waller Bridge is creating the new Tomb Raider series, and the show is expected to blend action, exploration, and character-driven storytelling, much like the games.

But it’s unclear which game will be the base of the story, or whether there will be an entirely new plot. With production now underway, Lara Croft fans can expect more updates soon.
