Big battery, bold durability; budget 5G gets serious

Vivo T4 Lite 5G lands in India with a massive battery and fast chipset

In an increasingly crowded budget 5G segment, Vivo is making a bold play with the launch of its most affordable 5G phone yet – the Vivo T4 Lite 5G. Priced aggressively at Rs 9,999, the phone appears to be designed with India’s younger smartphone users in mind. The ones who demand day-long stamina, fast data speeds, and design that doesn’t scream “budget”. Here’s everything you need to know about the Vivo T4 Lite 5G.

Vivo T4 Lite 5G launched in India; priced under Rs 10K

The star of the spec sheet is undoubtedly the 6000mAh battery, which comes with a promise of 5-year battery health. That’s a lofty claim for a phone in this price range, but one that could appeal strongly to users sick of charging anxiety. Charging support tops out at 15W, and yes, there’s a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for those who still prefer hardware-based biometrics.

On the performance front, the Vivo T4 Lite 5G houses the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 SoC which handles processing duties, paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage (with microSD support if you need more).

The phone runs Android 15 with Vivo’s FunTouchOS 15 skin on top, and is promised two years of OS updates and three years of security patches.

The 6.74-inch HD+ display isn’t breaking any records, but its 90Hz refresh rate and 1,000 nits peak brightness make it usable even under harsh daylight. That’s a fair ask from a phone that starts under Rs 10K.

On the optics side, Vivo has equipped the T4 Lite 5G with a 50MP primary shooter featuring a Sony sensor (f/1.8), accompanied by a 2MP depth sensor. Up front, you get a 5MP selfie camera.

Where it pulls ahead of the pack, at least on paper, is durability. The device has passed five MIL-STD-810H5 tests, including resistance to extreme temperatures, dust, water, and accidental shocks. There’s even an IP65 rating, which, while not waterproof, is more protection than what most phones in this segment offer.

Vivo T4 Lite 5G: Pricing and availability

The T4 Lite 5G is available in Prism Blue and Titanium Gold, and comes in three configurations – 4GB+128GB for Rs 9,999, 6GB+128GB for Rs 10,999, and 8GB+256GB for Rs 12,999.

Sales kick off July 2 via Vivo India’s online store, select e-commerce websites, and authorised offline retailers. There’s also a launch offer for a Rs 500 instant discount on HDFC, SBI, and Axis Bank cards. Other options in the same price range include the Redmi 14C 5G and Vivo’s own Y28e 5G.
