WhatsApp Business gets Status ads and AI chat to help brands grow

Meta has introduced new features for WhatsApp Business. These features are advertised to help businesses grow through features like Status ads and AI chat. Additionally, the voice and video calling feature will help businesses directly interact with their customers. Here’s everything you need to know.

All about the new WhatsApp Business features

WhatsApp will finally show ads, and businesses can leverage this for their growth. Meta has introduced Status ads that will appear right when you see the next status update. Interestingly, this integrates WhatsApp into its broader ad ecosystem.

Ads Manager can now use shared creatives for running ads across Meta platforms, like WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook. Further, businesses can upload subscriber list and manually select WhatsApp as a placement. They can even rely on Meta’s Advantage+ AI to optimise across platforms.

Other than this, WhatsApp has received enhanced AI support for business chats. Meta’s AI tools can now offer personalised product recommendatons and guide customers through website-based purchases.

Lastly, Meta is bringing voice and video calling on WhatsApp Business. While this feature was available on the regular WhatsApp app, it was missing in the Business app. Now, however, it’s here and it will help businesses directly connect with their customers.

Instead of a chat-based conversation, businesses can set up a video or voice call for real-time communication. This is quite useful for certain businesses, say consultancy services.
