WhatsApp rolls out festive features for New Year 2026

WhatsApp has rolled out a bunch of festive features just in time for the New Year 2026. The update brings new visual elements across messages, video calls, and Status, making it easier to send greetings and celebrate virtually with friends and family. Here’s all you need to know.

Here’s every new feature coming to WhatsApp

WhatsApp has introduced a special 2026-themed sticker pack that users can send in personal and group chats. These stickers are designed specifically for New Year wishes and add a fun touch to your everyday conversations.

Video calls are also getting an update. Users can now apply animated effects like fireworks, confetti, and sparkles during video calls.

Another small but fun addition is animated confetti reactions. Reacting to a message with a confetti emoji now triggers animations within the chat, adding a playful layer to your conversations.

WhatsApp has also brought animated stickers to Status updates. You can use the new 2026 layout with animated elements to make Status posts stand out during the holiday season.
