Xiaomi recently announced its flagship smartphone with the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset in global markets. Now, it’s confirmed to launch in India, and the specs will likely remain the same. We are looking at the aforesaid chipset, large batteries, as big as 7,500mAh, and a great camera system.

Xiaomi 17 India launch timeline and key features
The Xiaomi 17 series is confirmed to launch in India soon. But unfortunately, there’s no release date yet. But we expect the series to go official later this year. Upon launch, it will compete with the likes of the upcoming OnePlus 15 and the Vivo X300 series.
Globally, the Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Pro, and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max are available. It’s unclear if Xiaomi plans to launch all models or skip the Pro Max’s release in India. Nonetheless, all models pack the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, which is the most powerful mobile chipset from Qualcomm.
The Xiaomi 17 Pro and Pro Max get Leica cameras, and they also pack 6,300 and 7,000mAh batteries. The 17 gets a 7,000mAh battery. The fast charging speeds peak at 100W wired and 50W wireless.

The trio has a fast display, with the Xiaomi 17 featuring a small 6.3-inch display. The highlight here is the secondary screen, which is exclusive to the Pro models. The series boots on Android 16 and has HyperOS 3 on top.
