In China, Xiaomi uses its Mijia sub-brand to launch smart home and connected household appliances. Today, the brand unveiled a unique water purifier dubbed the Mijia Desktop Water Purifier Ice-Making Edition. Being a part of the Mijia ecosystem, it is designed to work with connected Xiaomi devices through HyperOS.
What sets this product apart from regular water purifiers is that it not only purifies water but also makes ice and heats water, all within a compact desktop design. Here’s a look at its specifications, features, and price.
Xiaomi Mijia Desktop Water Purifier Ice-Making Edition: Specs and features
The Mijia Desktop Water Purifier Ice-Making Edition is equipped with a pair of UV sterilisation lamps for disinfecting water and ice compartments, reducing bacterial growth by up to 99.9 per cent. It can remove contaminants as small as 0.0001 microns, such as microplastics, PFAS, and heavy metals, through its six-stage RO+GC filtration system.
There’s a 6-litre dual water tank that prevents backflow while maintaining water quality. It also features an activated carbon filter made from Sri Lankan coconut shells that enhances the taste.
Coming to the ice-making feature, the Mijia water purifier includes a variable-frequency ice-making system that allows users to make 10-gram or 6-gram ice cubes in 15 and 10 minutes, respectively. The built-in chamber can hold up to 50 cubes and preserve them for hours. All this happens silently as the compressor operates at a quiet 35dB.

The water temperature can be controlled, and its quality monitored through the Mijia app.
