Google is set to revolutionise short-form content with the rollout of Veo 3, its advanced text-to-video AI model, to YouTube Shorts and Canva. This integration signifies a major shift in content creation, discovery, and monetisation.
Veo 3 is more than a filter; it generates near-photorealistic videos from simple text prompts, like “A storm rolling over a neon city skyline” producing a cinematic sequence akin to something shot out of high-quality production gear.
This technology could empower creators by effectively providing a virtual production studio to anyone with a smartphone, promising a wave of diverse and innovative short form videos.
Veo 3 support added to YouTube Shorts and Canva
While full details are pending, AI-generated content will have dedicated discoverability and algorithmic promotion on the YouTube Shorts platform, with a rollout expected this summer.
Canva is also integrating Veo 3, allowing Pro, Teams, Enterprise, and Non-profit users to create video clips from text prompts. Users can then fine-tune these videos with text, music, or other designs.
