Snapdragon 8 Gen 3: 5 upcoming smartphones to feature the next-gen chip

Qualcomm announced its newest flagship chipset earlier this week – the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The new chip not only improves on the usual aspects like performance, thermals and efficiency, but also brings in new on-device AI capabilities.

If you’re someone looking to buy a new flagship smartphone, you may want to wait a few months for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Thankfully, you’re not being dealt a mysterious hand in selection. Plenty of brands have already confirmed that they will be featuring the new chip. Here are 5 devices expected to sport the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.

OnePlus 12

The OnePlus 12 will be one of the most awaited smartphones to sport the new chip. While rumours suggest OnePlus will likely be retaining its new design language from the OnePlus 11 series, we expect plenty of improvements under the hood and for the camera, two aspects where the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 will be handy.

Realme GT 5 Pro

Another value flagship on this list is the Realme GT 5 Pro. Like previous entries on the Realme GT series, the device is expected to bring in the usual formula of a futuristic design, gaming-oriented software features and tuning, and of course, the latest chip, which in this case is the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.

Samsung Galaxy S24 series

While Samsung hasn’t yet confirmed the availability of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 on its next S-series devices, the pattern from the brand’s last few S-series phones will show you that Samsung’s drive to pack its flagships with the best hardware will likely mean the S24 series does end up packing the new Qualcomm chip, at least in some regions if not all.

Oppo Find X7 series

Oppo fans who love the brand’s clean designs and emphasis on photography will appreciate the next Find series phone. While we still don’t know if the Find X7 will make it to India, the upcoming Oppo flagship is likely to leverage both the performance and the camera capabilities of the new Snapdragon chip.

Xiaomi 14 Series

Xiaomi is known to produce some excellent value flagship smartphones every year and the Xiaomi 14 series is expected to be no different. With the capabilities of the new chip and a new HyperOS Ui replacing MIUI this time around, expect the Xiaomi 14 series to be a fresh entry on Xiaomi’s menu.
