Acer’s latest smartphones are for mobile gamers seeking affordability

After a long hiatus, Acer has launched two new smartphones in India. A brand that’s widely known for its gaming and productivity laptops in the country has recently introduced the all-new Acer Super ZX and the Super ZX Pro.

Both are affordable phones that offer a slew of features. Some of their highlights include a 120Hz high refresh rate display, a Dimensity chipset, and support for thermal cooling. Here’s everything you need to know.

All about the new Acer SuperZX series

With the Super ZX series, Acer is targeting all budget buyers. The Super ZX is the most affordable one out of the two phones. It has a large 6.8-inch LCD with an FHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate support. It also has a 240Hz touch sampling rate for a faster touch response. The Super ZX Pro sports a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with an FHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate support.

Powering the Super ZX is the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 8GB of virtual RAM using the RAM expansion feature. It has 64GB of onboard storage for storing all your apps and games.

The Super ZX Pro is powered by the more powerful Dimensity 7400 chipset, and it’s coupled with up to 12GB of RAM and support for virtual RAM. It also has 128GB of internal storage.

As for cameras, both phones have a triple-rear camera system on the back. The Super ZX has a 64MP Sony LYTIA main sensor and two 2MP sensors for depth and macro shots. It has a 13MP camera on the front for selfies. The Super ZX Pro gets a 50MP Sony IMX882 main sensor with OIS, a 5MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 2MP macro unit. The Pro model has a 50MP selfie camera.

Coming to battery, both phones house a 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. For connectivity, both phones have 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS support.

Other features include the Acer Thermal Cooling system, which ensures that there’s no thermal throttling while gaming or performing intense tasks. The Pro model gets an added feature — the IP54 rating for dust and water resistance.

The Acer Super ZX is priced at Rs 9,990 for the 4GB + 64GB variant, whereas the Acer Super ZX Pro is priced at Rs 17,990 for the 6GB + 128GB variant. The series will go on sale from April 25 on Amazon.

However, before buying it, you should consider checking out some of the alternatives in the same price range, like the Vivo Y28e and the OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite. Both offer a water resistant design and have a large battery.
