Here’s everything you need to know about Apple’s fall keynote

Apple Awe Dropping 2025 event: Date, time, new iPhones, and how to watch

Apple is preparing to pull the curtain back on its most important products of the year. The fall launch event, set for September 9 (tomorrow) at the Steve Jobs Theatre, will see the debut of the next-gen iPhone lineup, flanked by refreshed Apple Watch models, new AirPods, and a suite of accessories. The keynote carries the theme ‘Awe Dropping’ and begins at 10:30 pm IST.

How to watch the Apple event

The keynote will stream live on Apple’s website and YouTube channel, ensuring global access. iPhone, iPad, and Mac users can also tune in directly through the Apple TV app. For those who miss it, a replay will be available shortly after the live broadcast wraps up.

Apple's ‘Awe Dropping’ event: What to expect

For the first time in nearly a decade, the Pro model is climbing above the long-standing $999 (approx. Rs 88,000) threshold. Analysts at JP Morgan suggest Apple will price the Pro at $1,099 (approx. Rs 96,800), citing the removal of the 128GB entry variant. Instead, storage begins at 256GB, positioning the phone as an even more premium flagship.

Of course, the iPhone 16 Pro in India was priced above the converted Rs 88,000 mark due to import taxes, so it’s safe to assume the upcoming Pro will be priced higher than the 16 Pro’s Rs 1,19,900 price tag.

The Pro is tipped to feature a redesigned camera module with three 48MP sensors, powered by the new A19 Pro chip. Apple is said to be adding 12GB of RAM and a vapour chamber cooling system to support performance, while wrapping the device in a sleeker aluminium frame. The Pro Max will offer the same internals but with a larger display, beefier battery, and slightly thicker build.

This year’s iPhone family is shaping up to be the most diverse in years. The standard iPhone will carry forward the iPhone 16’s design while upgrading to a 6.3-inch display, a 24MP front camera, and 120Hz refresh. A new entry, the ‘Air’, will aim for ultra-thin portability with a 6.6-inch panel and lightweight build. Above them sit the Pro and Pro Max, setting the tone for Apple’s premium tier.

When to order, when to unbox

Pre-orders for the new iPhone series open September 12. The official release date is September 19, when deliveries begin worldwide.

As always, the September event is about the broader Apple ecosystem. Alongside the new phones, Apple is expected to showcase the next-gen Apple Watch and Watch Ultra, new AirPods Pro with adaptive noise cancellation, and redesigned cases and straps.

The company will also roll out iOS 26, watchOS 26, macOS Tahoe, and visionOS 26, extending the software refresh across its product family.

And while September is all about the iPhone, attention is already shifting to what’s next. October could bring new iPads and MacBook Pros, and rumours suggest 2026 may finally see Apple’s first foldable iPhone, inspired by the ultra-thin design of this year’s iPhone Air.
