Of the many WWDC 2025 announcements last night, one particular announcement stood out. No, it has nothing to do with the Liquid Glass redesign, unified naming scheme or developer-specific features. Apple just revealed its plans to elevate your house parties.
With tvOS 26, Apple will be bringing in a feature called ‘Sing-along’, which is a cool new karaoke feature that we cannot wait to try out. Intrigued? Read on.
What is the tvOS 26 Sing-along feature?
As the name suggests, this feature lets you turn your Apple TV and iPhone into a legit karaoke machine. The TV will turn into a display for real-time lyrics and visual effects, while your iPhone will act like a ‘handheld microphone’ to amplify your voice.
This is by no means a one-person feature. While you’re busy belting out your favourite songs, your friends can queue up their next songs using their own iPhones or even react to your vocal talent with emojis. Lastly, there’s also a translation feature that will turn any song lyrics into a language that you can read and understand.
In essence, your Apple TV and iPhone combo will become a version of the many party speakers with mics available in the market today. They however need to be connected to a TV or used along with a karaoke app on your phone for the full experience.
Other new tvOS 26 features
Besides the Sing-along feature, tvOS 26 also gets the Liquid Glass treatment across the UI along with tweaks to how the series and movies are displayed on screen.
Other features include a bunch of new screensavers, user profiles, and tweaks to FaceTime on Apple TV.
When can you try the new tvOS 26 features?
The developer beta for tvOS 26 has started rolling out, with public beta set to roll out next month. A wider final roll out will happen later this year.
Needless to say, we cannot wait to try out the new Sing-along feature on our Apple TV. “Hey Siri! Please block my friend’s calendars for a house party and remind me to buy chips and dips.”
