Apple just refreshed its entire smartwatch lineup, dropping the Apple Watch Series 11, a revamped Apple Watch SE 3, and the Apple Watch Ultra 3. The new wearables are packed with upgrades, including satellite connectivity for the Ultra, 5G for the mainstream models, and some potentially life-saving health features that bring professional-level monitoring to your wrist. Let’s dive in.

Apple Watch Ultra 3

The Apple Watch Ultra 3 sports the largest display ever on an Apple Watch, thanks to thinner bezels. You also get a new LTPO3 tech that allows the always-on screen to refresh once per second, so you can finally see a ticking seconds hand without waking the display. Battery life is still a beast at 42 hours, extendable to 72 hours in Low Power Mode. It also gets a 5G upgrade for faster on-grid connectivity.

The Ultra 3 is also doubling down on its “adventure watch” cred with its killer new feature: two-way satellite communications. When you’re completely off the grid without Wi-Fi or mobile service, you can now text emergency services, message your contacts, and share your location using satellites. This feature even works for crash and fall detection, automatically sending for help if you’re unresponsive.

The Ultra 3 will be available in natural or black titanium starting at Rs 89,900, with pre-orders open now for a September 19 release.

Apple Watch Series 11

The mainstream Apple Watch Series 11, starting at Rs 46,900, gets some significant internal upgrades. The screen is now protected by a new Ion-X glass that Apple claims is twice as scratch-resistant as before.

While the Series 11 and Ultra 3 look familiar, the real story is the new health tech inside. Both models can now monitor for signs of chronic high blood pressure, or hypertension, by analysing heart sensor data over 30-day periods. This could be a genuine game-changer as it could potentially flag an often-undiagnosed condition for millions of users.

Apple Watch SE 3

But perhaps the biggest glow-up belongs to the budget-friendly Apple Watch SE 3. For Rs 25,900, it finally gets an Always-On display, powered by the new S10 chip. It also gains fast charging for the first time, a more crack-resistant cover glass, and a whole suite of health features previously reserved for pricier models, like wrist temperature sensing for ovulation estimates, sleep apnea notifications, and a new Sleep Score to help you understand your rest quality.

Finally, all three new watches run watchOS 26, which introduces a slick “Liquid Glass” design language, a new wrist flick gesture for dismissing notifications, and an AI-powered Workout Buddy that offers personalised motivation during exercise.
