Will your air purifier and pet get along? Find out!

Are air purifiers good for when you have pets?

As with the rapid increase in air pollution, we are witnessing more and more people considering giving air purifiers a try. We all know air purifiers clean indoor air and give us clean and fresh air to breathe. But with any new device or technology come several doubts and apprehensions. And pet lovers like us might even have an additional concern on top of the usual confusion, i.e., is it a good idea to have an air purifier when you have a pet at home? Well, let’s find out!

Can you use an Air Purifier if you have a pet at home?

The simple answer is yes; you can use an air purifier even if you have a pet at home. The purpose of an air purifier is to remove pollutants by continuously recycling the air from the immediate environment to provide fresh and healthy air to breathe. With the gradually increasing air pollution, air purifiers are today seen as a necessity. Be it humans or animals — everyone needs clean and healthy air. Polluted air equally affects both humans and animals, so getting an air purifier would, in fact, be a good thing.

As far as physical safety goes, it is the same as any other electrical appliance. You still have to mind the electrical cords so that your pets don’t get entangled. Almost all air purifiers are sealed units where the fans, as well as filters, can’t be accessed without opening them. They are designed in a way to be used at home around kids and small pets as well.

Why should you get an air purifier if you have a pet?

It is, in fact, advisable that you get an air purifier if you have a pet or multiple pets at home. Most animals shed hair and leave behind pet dander which is a prime cause of allergies. If you’re a pet parent, it is always a good idea to bring home an air purifier. However, a compact, less noisy, and portable option that can be put on a table out of reach from your pets will be the best option for you.
