Assassin’s Creed Mirage gets a Discovery Tour app that lets you walk through ancient Baghdad

Regardless of whether you have played the game or not, Ubisoft is bringing the game’s experience straight to your phone, and you can quite literally walk through 9th century Baghdad from the comfort of your couch.

All about the Discovery Tour app for AC Mirage

The app in question isn’t the actual game, which was released for iOS a while back. Rather, it’s a separate app that’s free, unlike the mobile game. Called Discovery Tour, the app lets you wander through a beautifully recreated 9th-century version of the city, which also happens to be at the heart of Assassin’s Creed Mirage.

The app has a pretty cool approach for you to explore Baghdad. It has a reworked map that delivers a two-hour narrative adventure. It also features an augmented reality feature that allows you to view 3D models of famous artefacts.

Unlike the game, you won’t get any stealth element, but rather a simple approach of getting the most out of the place. It’s less of a playable history lesson, and more a great research-based showcase.
